We are delighted to report that our Santa Paws event, held on Saturday December 9th, raised a superb £290 for the European Guide Dog Federation. The snow didn't put people off and the event was a huge success! It may have been as chilly as the North Pole in our large warehouse, but over the three hours we welcomed lots of four legged visitors and their owners!
Visitors were able to warm up with a mulled wine or a deluxe hot chocolate and festive treats and mince pies were available to purchase. Children were able to fill up little bags of reindeer food ready for Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and of course Rudolph on Christmas Eve! We also had a festive photo booth with Christmas props for guests to enjoy!
We had a wonderful array of breeds who came along to meet Santa Paws and Father Christmas, these included; several Labradors, Beau the Golden Retriever, a Jug (Jack Russell x Pug), Cherry the Staffie, several Jack Russells, a rescue Boxer cross called Daphne, Hetton the black Labrador, Babs the Lakeland Terrier, several Border Terriers, a Cocker Spaniel puppy, Milly the Springer Spaniel, a Miniature Schnauzer, Buddy the Vizsla, Patterdale Terriers, a Curly Coated Retriever, several Cockapoos, Shih Tzu's and a Bichon Frise!
Lauren and Mark Wilson's daughters Millie, Sadie and Darcy won our fancy dress competition as they came dressed as characters from 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,' with their dog Ted as Aslan! They won a free groom with Emily from Langdale Paws Professional Dog Grooming, along with a 12kg bag of WuffitMix Turkey, Sweet Potato & Cranberry worth £38.99!
Huge thanks to Emily from Langdale Paws Professional Dog Grooming for attending the event and demonstrating how to groom dogs correctly to visitors - we hope to see you at future events! Special thanks also go to Jade the Elf who is our warehouse manager and ensured things ran smoothly, Peter, Diane, Gemma, Andrea, Mark and Emma who stepped in as 'Santa Paws' at the last minute!
Congratulations also go to Carla Thompson who won our 'How Much is that Doggy in the Window' competition and wins a giant cuddly dog!
