On Saturday 9th November the Ulster Retriever Club held their last trial of the year, a 16 dog novice stake, held at Benvarden Estate by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Hugh Montgomery and the shooting syndicate.

Despite the very wet weather, they were afforded a plentiful supply of game and some wonderful shooting to boot.

The judges Mr P Turner, Mr T Rodgers, Mr P Colville, Mr J Dawson arrived at the following result:
