Brand Ambassador Tony O'Hare and New FTCH Burrendale Ace

On Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th October 2021, The Cheshire, North Wales and Shropshire Retriever and Spaniel Society held its 2 day open Retriever Field Trial at Checkley Wood Shoot, by kind permission of Ivor Beavis. Brand Ambassador Tony O'Hare and his Labrador Retriever Dog 'Murphy' went on to take 1st place, qualifying Tony & Murphy for the 2021 IGL Retriever Championships and making 'Burrendandale Ace' up to Field Trial Champion.

’Only five dogs were taken through to day two; Mark Demaine, John Halstead, Kelly Rogers Davidson, Kevin Butler and Tony O’Hare. The second bird shot was a pheasant with a leg down. It flipped in front of the first dog and was not picked. Three more dogs were tried but all were eventually eye wiped by the judges, leaving one dog standing. After two more retrieves the judges declared the trial over at 10.45 - probably one of the shortest second days ever!’

The Judges for the day were; Dave Latham, Nick Coates, Judith White and Neil Appleton.

The results were as follows:

1st - Burrendale Ace - Tony O'Hare

Gun's Choice - Turpingreen Bohol - Kevin Butler

Keeper's Choice - Breckmarsh Ethan of Caytonfell - Mark Demaine

We would like to take this moment to congratulate Tony and wish him the best of luck in the IGL Championships this year.
