Today (Friday 12th June) is 'National Loving Day' and there is no better way to spend the day than with your furry best friend. We are going to share with you our top 5 ways to tell your dog that you love them without having to learn how to bark!
Gaze into their eyes - by gently petting and creating eye contact with your own dog this is a display of affection which builds and creates trust.
Have fun with each other - if you do something you both love every day such as teaching new tricks, snoozing around the house or going for long walks your dog will feel loved and you can keep them healthy.
Snuggle - some dogs do not enjoy being hugged however being pack animals they love close contact so letting them cuddling up to you on the sofa is an ultimate display of trust and affection.
Leaning - you may wonder why your dog tends to lean on you whilst standing around or they may lean on you whilst you are sitting watching TV, this is their way of 'hugging' you and if you let them, your dog will know you love them back.
Touch - touching your pooch releases oxytocin in you and them! A gentle stroke/massage/petting will relax you both (especially if you rub their ears, this is their favourite way for you to tell your dog you love them).
